Rev. Dr. Theophilus James Stanford is an anointed musician, preacher and teacher of God’s word. Originally from Newnan, Georgia, Theophilus grew up with music at the center of his life playing and directing choirs at a very early age.  He is gifted as a songwriter, pianist, and vocalist and equally as gifted and passionate about bringing the Word of God to the people, his life’s work is to point others to God and to encourage others to pay it forward through acts of love, justice, and mercy.

In 1994, Theophilus first brought together a group of gifted vocalist from churches who shared his passion for music and sharing the gospel. Unlike many groups who come together solely for the purpose of performing, Word of Life is a family that does life together.  Over the years, Word of Life has continued to inspire and encourage one another as they use music to minister to others. 

Throughout his professional life, Theophilus has worked for a major multi-national corporation  all the while equipping himself and serving as the pastor of several local congregations within the North Georgia Conference of the United Methodist Church. He currently serves as pastor of the Allgood Road United Methodist Church in Stone Mountain, GA.  With all of his responsibilities, he has been unable to focus full time on his first love – music.  Yet, he has managed to remain committed to growing as a musician and writing wonderful works of praise and worship

Now is God’s appointed time for his music to take its rightful place as a significant part of his ministry. Look for exciting new works of art from this talented and anointed vessel and the Word of Life family.
